About

Built in Zurich.
Built to last.

Swiss Private Journeys was built because there was a gap in the market that was also a gap in the experience — and the two are not usually the same thing.

The story

Why this
company exists.

Alex· Zurich, Switzerland

"I live in Zurich. I know the hidden cellar in Appenzell and the family that has made cheese the same way for thirty years in the shadow of Pilatus."

I built Swiss Private Journeys because I could not find what I was looking for: a company that treated a trip like a story, not a transaction. Every operator I found either ran large groups on a fixed schedule, or was a single excellent person who could only take one booking per day and had no backup when life intervened.

The gap in the middle — private, systemised, premium, scalable — was wide open. Not because no one had noticed it, but because filling it properly requires building something that is much harder than either of the alternatives: a system that delivers an extraordinary experience consistently, without depending on any single person to deliver it.

That is what this company is. A system that happens to sell travel experiences. Every guide briefed to the same standard. Every local moment pre-arranged. Every memory object sourced before the trip begins. Every post-trip message comes from your guide personally — not automated, not a template, not from our team.

The single most important thing we do is engineer the moment a client calls their family the evening after a trip and says: "You will not believe what happened today." Everything else — the revenue, the growth, the nine routes — follows from that moment.

What we believe

Switzerland has never been the problem.

The problem is how it has been sold.

A bus of fifty strangers is not a private journey.

A solo driver-guide cannot watch the road and tell you why the Lion Monument is made of sandstone at the same time.

A logistics email is not a story package.

The problem is how it has been sold.

Every mountain in Switzerland is extraordinary.

The question is who is standing next to you when you see it — and what they say.

What drives us

The four things
we will never compromise on.

01

The experience is the product

Not the mountain. Not the cable car. Not the restaurant table. These are components. The product is the feeling a guest carries home — and we engineer that feeling deliberately, from the pre-trip story to the post-trip message. If it is not extraordinary, it is not ready to sell.

02

Quality over volume — always

We will never run more trips than we can deliver well. The easiest way to grow a tour business is to add trips faster than you add quality controls. We have seen what that produces. We will grow at the speed our guide network and operations system can absorb — not faster.

03

Every guest deserves the same

Switzerland's private tour market is almost entirely served in English. The German-speaking visitor is directed to coach tours. The Mandarin-speaking guest is handed a translated pamphlet. The Arabic-speaking guest is rarely considered at all. We built the same experience — the same depth, the same storytelling, the same standard — in English, German, Mandarin, and Arabic. Equal quality is not a feature. It is a principle.

The local moment is protected

Every local moment we have engineered into our routes is kept confidential — not published on our website, not mentioned in our GYG listings, not revealed to guides who do not need to know. The moment we make it public is the moment it becomes a tourist attraction. That is the opposite of what it is supposed to be.

What you can rely on

Six promises.
Every booking.

These are not aspirations. They are the conditions under which we operate. If any of them fail, we want to know — and we will make it right.

Your driver is at your hotel ten minutes early. Not on time. Early. If they are not, contact us immediately.

Your pre-trip story package arrives 48 hours before departure. If you have not received it by then, something has gone wrong and we want to know.

The local moment happens on every trip. It is not subject to time pressure or weather. It is built into the itinerary before the trip begins.

Your photographs arrive before you reach your hotel room. Ten curated images, delivered to your phone the same day.

If the mountain is closed, we tell you 24 hours before — never on arrival. And we offer a genuine alternative, not a consolation.

Your guide's post-trip message arrives within 48 hours. Personal. Not automated. From the person who was with you that day.
