Our Guides

The experience
is only as good
as who delivers it.

We do not hire tour guides. We select specialists — people who have spent years in a single region of Switzerland, who know its history the way a local knows their own street, and who can hold a story for ten hours without losing a single guest.

Why this matters

A system built on
people who are exceptional
at one thing.

The best solo operators in Switzerland — and there are a handful of genuinely extraordinary ones — are limited by one unavoidable constraint: they can only take one booking per day. When they are booked, they are booked. When they are unwell, the trip cancels. When they retire, the business ends.

We built a different model. We have multiple specialist guides, briefed to the same standard on every route, delivering the same quality of experience regardless of who you are assigned. The local moment is in the itinerary. The guide knows it, has rehearsed it, and has confirmed the supplier before your trip begins.

The selection process

What we look for
in every guide.

Regional expertise

Every guide specialises in specific routes — not all of Switzerland. A guide who runs the Zermatt route has been to Zermatt dozens of times, knows the cemetery, has located the widows' chapel, and has walked to the Riffelsee before dawn. We do not use generalists.

Narrative ability

Switzerland's mountains are extraordinary. But the difference between a good day and an unforgettable one is whether the person describing them can hold your attention for ten hours without a single moment of dead air. We assess this before any client assignment.

Four languages, equally

We operate in English, German, Mandarin, and Arabic — equal quality in all four, capable of delivering the same depth of storytelling and cultural nuance in whichever language your group prefers.

The local moment

Every candidate is assessed on their ability to identify, arrange, and deliver a pre-planned local moment without it feeling rehearsed. This is harder than it sounds. It is the part of the experience that matters most and the part that is easiest to get wrong.

Discretion and professionalism

Guides receive client first names only. No surnames, no contact details, no booking history. Customer relationships are maintained by us. Guides focus on the experience. This is a non-negotiable condition of every freelance agreement we sign.

Trial period

Every new guide completes three paid trial trips — either with a test group arranged by us, or alongside an existing guide — before any solo client assignment. We brief, debrief, and assess after each one. Standards do not lower because we are busy.

How we maintain quality

The system that ensures
every trip is the same quality.

The guide brief

48 hours before each trip, every guide receives a detailed written brief — client details, route specifics, local moment confirmation, memory object reminder, and any notes from the pre-trip Story Package. Nothing is left to the guide's memory on the morning of the trip.

The 3-question survey

Every guest is asked directly about their experience. Anything that falls short of exceptional triggers a same-day conversation with the founder. No negative feedback waits

Monthly performance review

Every active guide receives a written monthly review — platform scores, guest survey results, local moment execution assessment, and specific feedback on any debrief from the previous month's trips. This is not an annual conversation. It is a monthly one.

Quarterly mystery trip

We maintain quality through direct personal review after every trip, and through periodic unannounced quality checks. Our guides know the standard — not the schedule.

The guarantee

If your guide cannot make it,
we have another one ready.

Every route has a minimum of two briefed guides available at any time. If your assigned guide cancels — for any reason, on any morning — we have a replacement who has read the same brief, knows the same local moment, and is ready to collect you at the same time. We have never cancelled a trip due to guide unavailability. This is the system that makes that possible.

Common questions

Questions about
our guides.

Can I request a specific guide?

Not by name, and there is a reason for that. We designed the system so that the experience does not depend on one person being available. What you can request is a language preference, a particular style of narration (more historical, more personal, more nature-focused), or a guide with a specific background. We match accordingly. The quality is guaranteed regardless of who is assigned.

Are your guides official Swiss guides or freelancers?

Our guides work with us on a freelance basis under signed contracts that include quality standards, non-solicitation clauses, and strict confidentiality on client information. Many hold official Swiss touristic guide certifications. All have been selected, briefed, and assessed by us independently of any certification they hold. A certificate tells us someone completed a course. Our trial process tells us they can hold a room for ten hours.

What languages do your guides speak?

We operate in English, German, Mandarin, and Arabic — equal quality in all four, capable of delivering the same depth of storytelling and cultural nuance in whichever language your group prefers.

Does the guide know my personal details?

Your guide receives your first name, your group size, your pickup details, and any relevant notes from your pre-trip message. Nothing else. No surname, no nationality, no booking history. This is a deliberate privacy decision, and it is written into every guide's contract. All customer relationships are managed directly by us.

What happens if I have a problem with my guide on the day?

Contact us directly — by WhatsApp — from any point during the trip. We respond within minutes during operating hours. Our operations contact is included in every booking confirmation and every pre-trip story package. We do not outsource the response to a call centre.
