Booking Terms

What you agree to
when you book with us.

These terms govern all direct bookings made with Swiss Private Journeys. They are written to be read, not filed.

01 — Nature of service

What Swiss Private Journeys provides

Swiss Private Journeys curates, organises, and coordinates private guided day experiences in Switzerland. We work with a selected group of independent professional guides and drivers to deliver each journey.

We are the organiser and point of contact for every booking. Your guides and drivers are independent contractors who operate under our standards and conduct guidelines.

02 — Booking confirmation

When a booking is confirmed

A booking is confirmed once payment — full amount or agreed deposit — has been received and we have sent a written confirmation by email or WhatsApp. Until confirmation is sent, no booking is guaranteed.

03 — Pricing & inclusions

What the price covers

Prices are stated clearly on each journey page and include private transportation, a specialist guide, and the experiences specified per route. Prices are in Swiss Francs and include all standard inclusions for that route.

Meals, personal expenses, travel insurance, and optional gratuities are not included unless explicitly stated on the journey page.

04 — Cancellation

Cancellation & refunds

Our cancellation policy applies to all direct bookings. Please refer to the Cancellation Policy page for the full terms, including refund tiers and rescheduling options.

05 — Modifications

Changes to your booking

We will accommodate route or timing adjustments where operationally possible. Requests to change a confirmed booking should be made as early as possible by contacting us directly. Changes are subject to guide and vehicle availability.

We reserve the right to adjust itineraries on the day when external factors — weather, access restrictions, unexpected closures — make the planned route impossible or inadvisable. In such cases, we will inform you and propose an alternative.

06 — Responsibility & liability

What we are responsible for

Swiss Private Journeys is responsible for organising your experience to the standard described on the journey page. We select, brief, and coordinate the guides and drivers who deliver your day.

We are not liable for delays, disruptions, or changes caused by weather, third-party transport failures, force majeure events, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Independent guides and drivers are responsible for the safe and professional delivery of their services. They operate under their own professional liability.

07 — Guest responsibility

Your responsibility as a guest

Guests are responsible for ensuring they are fit and able to participate in the journey they have booked. For high-altitude routes — particularly Jungfraujoch at 3,454 metres — guests with heart conditions, respiratory illness, or who are pregnant should consult a medical professional before booking.

We recommend that all guests arrange appropriate travel insurance before their journey, including cover for cancellation, medical emergencies, and mountain rescue where relevant.

08 — Governing law

Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes arising from a booking with Swiss Private Journeys shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich, Switzerland.
